Jewelry Care
JEWELRY CARE
Caring for your jewelry properly will help keep it looking brand new and extend the lifetime of your piece(s). While we use high quality findings, chain, and stone, taking good care of your jewelry is key to maintaining the look of your piece(s).
- Remove all jewelry before showering, swimming, working out, etc. Heat and moisture can spend the natural oxidizing of sterling silver and slowly begin to wear down gold filled metals. Chemicals used in pools and shower products can also affect stones over time.
- Remove rings while washing hands and applying lotions.
- Jewelry should be stored in air-tight spaces while not being worn. A small zip lock bag does wonders and keeps sterling looking fresh. Should your sterling silver begin oxidizing (all sterling does this), take a polishing cloth and light buff your pieces with light pressure. Anti-tarnish discs are also a great addition to put into your zip lock bag with your piece.
- Do not sleep in your jewelry.
A good rule of thumb to remember – Jewelry is the finishing touch of your look so jewelry should be put on last and removed first. If you have any specific questions regarding the care or cleaning of any pieces, please contact us anytime at info@leslieannejewelry.com .
